The Gingerbread House Contest

This week I entered a Gingerbread Contest at the Richland Community Center.
What fun it has been to create this scene.

This is a good view of the Manger scene but
Mary and Joseph hadn't been fashioned yet.
The Manger also had a sign over the stable
saying... "The Son of His Love." Colossians 1:13b

(not in pic because it was the last thing to be added after we transported it to the Community Center in Richland.
The skaters show up pretty good here.
A bad storm came up as we left the Apartment bldg. and we were afraid it was going to blow away on the way into the Center. But all faired pretty well. It was snowing, sleeting and raining with a strong wind.

The first thing that came to mind was a Stained glass window. So I used some
tracing paper, drew the design and colored it
with Magic markers.

Then the pattern for the church took shape. Of course not only did we have to have a creche' on the board but skaters on an ice pond at the back.

More pics will fill in the gaps.
This is a pretty good view of the
Stained glass window and front
doors made of Chocolate Waffle cookies.
Everyone got a prize for their creation.
Mine was 'Dinner for two at the Shiloh Inn.'
